Regarding installing FMW components: OAM and OID installation and configuration

Hello,

Let me clarify my situation. I have a Oracle Applications R12.1.3 running with reverse proxy setup(3-tier).

We need to make it single sign-on using CA Siteminder. Oracle Ebiz does not support Siteminder so oracle support informed us to install and configure OID and OAM to be able to integrate with siteminder.

Now what I need is step by step guide on how to do that. We do not have any idea on OID/OAM.

I have referred the following document about OAM: Oracle Access Manager 11gR2 Quick Start Guide (Doc ID 1486456.1)

Need similar documents for OID as well. Also any help on configuration or how it works will be helpful.

Hello,

I need some information:

1. Same database can be used for RCU to create repo for OID and OAM?

2. 12c database is fine?

3. Its Oracle Identity Federation for OID and for OAM?

4. OID and OAM can be installed on same server?

3. Its Oracle Identity Federation for OID and for OAM? [OIF is not mandatory, If you want, you can configure]

4. OID and OAM can be installed on same server? [Should be No, I have seen a doc note which says there can be few issues if you use same server for OID and IAM, I will try if I can get that link]

Need some work principles for OID and OAM.

Any easy to understand doc will be helpful.

Yes

OAM does support. Check certification matrix to confirm.

3. Its Oracle Identity Federation for OID and for OAM?

OID - Oracle Internet Directory. It is LDAP directory server.

4. OID and OAM can be installed on same server

Yes. In DEV environment you can install it on same sever. For other environment keep it on separate severs.

Just to confirm you are integrating Oracle E-business Suite with OAM correct ?

Yes. Is there any overview guide available. I am new to this and have no idea on OID/OAM.

My goal is to integrate Ebiz with OAM and then OAM with CA Siteminder(Our Enterprise SSO).

Is there any shortcut?

Regarding whether to install OVD/OID along with OAM:

Hey, I am unable to find the exact note which mentioned few issues which mostly people encounters.

But I can see this thread where they had discussed one issue when using same server: 

Its better first you should try and try to install in different server if you encounter any issue.
