    How to bring the interface down and up

      Dear All,

       

      I am trying to bring the interface down and up for trouble shooting but i get error while doing it, please refer to the below logs and help me in fixing this issue.

       

      bash-3.00# dladm show-dev

      igb0 link: up        speed: 1000 Mbps       duplex: full

      igb1 link: up        speed: 1000 Mbps       duplex: full

      igb2 link: up        speed: 1000 Mbps       duplex: full

      igb3 link: up        speed: 1000 Mbps       duplex: full

      bash-3.00# ifconfig igb1 down

      ifconfig: setifflags: SIOCGLIFFLAGS: igb1: no such interface

      bash-3.00# ifconfig igb1 down unplumb

      ifconfig: setifflags: SIOCGLIFFLAGS: igb1: no such interface

      bash-3.00# dladm show-dev

      igb0 link: up        speed: 1000 Mbps       duplex: full

      igb1 link: up        speed: 1000 Mbps       duplex: full

          Hi,

           

               So  is your data-link name  not the same  name  as the  device name ? 

              I have  used aggregated  devices  for one data link  a lot .

                then the  interface name  would be  aggrxxxyyy     where  xxx is the vlan   and  yyy  is the aggregate number.

           

              run ifconfig m  dladm  show-link   and   dladm show-aggr     to find out.
