Configuration Tools Can Fail If WebLogic Installation Path Contains Spaces
Platform: MS Windows
On some Microsoft Windows platforms, the WebLogic configuration tool commands (including
unpack) can fail if the WebLogic installation path contains a space. In this case, the command may fail with a
java.lang.ClassNotFoundException, where the class is derived from the portion of the installation path after the space. The commands fail when short file name generation has been disabled in the Windows registry.
You must enable short name generation in the Windows registry in order for spaces to be properly handled by the configuration tools. To enable short name generation:
- Navigate to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\FileSystem folder.
NtfsDisable8dot3NameCreationand set its value to
- Reboot for the change to take effect.
