With 100k check-ins a day (70/min) you will need to consider sizing, even if only simple text file are being ingested. With photos, you will also need to consider conversion requirements.Yes, there are systems managing billions of items, incl. multimedia, so it's doable, but certain experience will certainly be necessary.
As for performance, searching most likely won't the biggest issue - multimedia are usually metadata-only searched, so it's like having that amount of rows in the database - apparently, the right indexing will be the key.
Other than that, performance of check-ins (esp. if conversions are in place), and the price of storage will be other challenges.
So, the indexing will be best managed by UCM or our intervention will make it better in this case.
For a particular assessee, His all related and transnational structured data will go to Oracle database. But related photos can go in
1. The same database as BLOB
2. OR it could be placed in file system using SAN storage
3. OR it could be placed in UCM with Unique metadat created in UCM and value of this metadata would be the value of a particular column in RDBMS.
Which approach would be better?
