    Upgrade Question

    AquaNX4

      Hello:

My predecessor installed the beta version of 11g (as you can see below) Application Express 4.0.2.00.08

      SELECT * FROM V$VERSION

      Output

Oracle Database 11g Express Edition Release 11.2.0.2.0 - Beta

      PL/SQL Release 11.2.0.2.0 - Beta

      "CORE 11.2.0.2.0 Production"

TNS for 32-bit Windows: Version 11.2.0.2.0 - Beta

      NLSRTL Version 11.2.0.2.0 - Production

My question is this:  If I upgrade my APEX to 4.2.5, will I still have a beta version of Oracle 11G?

          Hi,

Yes, you still run 11G XE beta.

APEX upgrade do not change other system schema objects witch might been fixed/changes between beta and production version.

Only way "upgrade" 11G XE to latest version is first export all data (APEX workspaces and applications, your schemas), uninstall beta, install latest version and then import all data.

          Regards,

          Jari
