download the copy of rpd from Dev server to desktop and using offline mode open the rpd and make the chnages to the connection pool settings like db,userid, pwd etc and then save it.. now login to EM of live server eg: http://liveserver.com:7001/em and using EM upload the rpd from your desktop and it gets pushed to the respective path.
for catalog yes you can copy the entire catalog from dev to live server. Or if you just want to copy certain folders/reports/dashboards then you can use archive/un-archive options either from analytics or using catalog manager(archive/un-archive or copy n paste - opening 2 catalog managers side by side)
1. Open the DEV rpd in online mode and save as in your desktop.
2. Open Prod or Live server EM "http://liveserver:7001/em"
3. Navigate to Farm_bifoundation -->Business Intelligence --> coreapplication -->Deployment --> Repository
4. Lock and Edit configuration
5. In the Upload BI repository section upload the copied rpd and provide the correct password.
6. Release configuration
7. Restart the BI server to take effect.
Open the DEV and Prod catalog in online mode in your desktop
Traverse to the project folder or your desired folder
Copy from DEV to Prod.
All the best !!!!
thanks for the reply. I opened the rpd in online mode and uploaded it to the EM on the live server. However i get the following error.
commit failed with 0 errors and 2 warnings. problems reported by cpaapp:coreapplication_obis1. see detailed logs for more information
I restarted the services however the new rpd doesn't get uploaded to the live server.
I checked the diagnostics and it show the following.
odbc driver returned an error (SQLDriverConnectW)
Authentication error. Invalid session ID or session expired.
Could this be a connection problem or lack of access to certain ports via a firewall?
i got the rpd uploaded. I had made the mistake not clicking on the APPLY button. My bad.
Though the rpd got uploaded, the catalog is giving me problems. The path for the catalog in the dev system is $ORACLE_INSTANCE/bifoundation/OracleBIPresentationServicesComponent/$COMPONENT_NAME/catalog/
I amended the path of the catalog in the live system to the same as above. However, then i get two error when restarting.
