I got Oracle Apps R12 VMware Windows installation from one institute.
I have a small doubt in it. I am not able to use $APPL_TOP(%APPL_TOP%) or $AU_TOP(%AU_TOP%) like that. Means the environmental variables are not set as in UNIX.
Can somebody please help me in setting these environment variables.
Of course, we don't know what it is you got "from one institute" or exactly what you mean by "not able to use", but here is an example of setting and checking enviornment variables at a Windows command prompt. Remember that whatever you set in that command prompt applies only to that command prompt window. It is not global and will not be seen by any other window/session.
Environment variable APPL_TOP not defined
Thanks for your reply. The institute people gave me a dump of Oracle R12 installation. By running one script "adstrtal.cmd", I am able to login to e-business suite.
I am a bit aware of UNIX usage where we switch using $AU_TOP to switch directly to AU top, where as in Windows, I am not able to find its equivalent (%AU_TOP%).
Or please correct me if I need to search using some other thing.
Thanks for your reply. I expected it to be set already while starting the E-business suite. Actually I am not aware of where the file is located.
Can you please help me in finding and running the file. I would be very helpful to you.
My actual R12 installation location path is (D:\).
I expected it to be set already while starting the E-business suite. Actually I am not aware of where the file is located.
it has to be set when ever you need it, its not automatically sourced.
APPS<CONTEXT_NAME>.env or APPS<CONTEXT_NAME>.cmd APPL_TOP apps/apps_st/appl Consolidated setup file
look for apps/apps_st/appl folder in you base folder (ex: D:/VIS/apps/apps_st/appl)
Please read previously posted links to know more on environment settings, there are various env/cmd files for R12 installation which has to be sourced based on the tasks you want to perform(application tier/database tier)
