    Not able to see login page now, earlier all was working fine

    anand_gp

      Hi,

      I have installed APEX some 9 to 10 months back into my laptop (even the DB).  Everything was working fine without any issues.  I created some sample test application as well.  I have successfully logged in around 2 months back.  After that I have not tried to login.  Now when I tried to login using same url -

      http://localhost:8080/apex/apex_admin

      I am getting message as -

      No data received

      Unable to load the webpage because the server sent no data.

      Error code: ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE

      Not sure what went wrong!  I have not done any kind of setting changes either in apex or in oracle.  The database and listner are working fine.

      When I checked DB, I saw that APEX_040200 and APEX_PUBLIC_USER and few more schema password were expired and locked.  I reset the password and unlocked (setting password as schema name).

      However, that did not help me.  After looking at forum I also ran below from DB -

      sqlplus /nolog

      connect sys as sysdba

      ALTER SESSION SET CURRENT_SCHEMA = APEX_040200;

      BEGIN

      APEX_INSTANCE_ADMIN.SET_PARAMETER('DISABLE_ADMIN_LOGIN', 'N');

      commit;

      END;

      /

      But nothing helped me   Can somebody help me to get back my login page please?

      I use -

      APEX version:  4.2.3

      DB version:    11g Release 11.2.0.1.0

      Web server: EPG

      System O/S:  Windows 7 Enterprises 64-bit

      server platform: Intel Core i5-3437U CPU @ 1.90GHz 2.40 GHz RAM: 8GB

      Browser(s)/version(s):  Google Chrome: Version 36.0.1985.125 m

      IE version:  10.0.9200

      Thanks in advance.

          I never worked with APEX on a Windows Computer.

          But what happens exactly on your computer?

          You tried to connect to the workspace administration (/apex/apex_admin).

          Why?

          What happened?

          Did you see at all a Loggin page?

          If yes, did you enter the user 'admin' and your password?

          In my case the user APEX_040200 has the Account Status 'EXPIRED & LOCKED'

          and the user APEX_PUBLIC_USER the Account Status 'LOCKED'

          ... but nevertheless everthing works fine.

          The problem must be anywhere else

          ... or, if it's a Windows Problem, ask Bill Gates (that's only a joke)

              Hello friends!  Need your help here for above topic.  I am the administrator and owner of my laptop.  I am trying apex admin and I don't see any login page.  Please let me know what to check.  I even don't know where the logs available to troubleshoot.  Let me know if any alternative to recover my session.  Otherwise only option left is to re-install APEX, by which I am going to loose all my development work!  (I am just wonder what if I have some real stuff, critical data laying on my application and this happens!!!!!).

              Regards,

                You say that you are using the EPG, but that the 'listener' is installed correctly? Are you trying to run both the APEX Listener (now known as ORDS) and the database built-in EPG?

                The following accounts should be unlocked:

                ALTER USER anonymous ACCOUNT UNLOCK;

                ALTER USER xdb ACCOUNT UNLOCK;

                ALTER USER apex_public_user ACCOUNT UNLOCK;

                ALTER USER flows_files ACCOUNT UNLOCK;

                As you have already used this setup, you will have already configured the HTTP port, decided whether to allow remote access and setup the network ACLs?

                Running the script $ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/admin/epgstat.sql may give some clues regarding configuration problems.

                    Hello Andy,

                    Few more updates from my side.

                    I observed passwords for users XDB, ANONYMOUS, FLOWS_FILES, SYS, MGMT_VIEW, DBSNMP and SYSMAN got expired.  And I set the passwords manually.

                    I made a restart of DB.  I still not able to connect to APEX and getting below error -

                    http://localhost:8080/apex/apex_admin

                    Again I ran $ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/admin/epgstat.sql   and here is the result -

                      Can we recheck the account statuses...

                      select username, account_status from dba_users
                      where username in ('ANONYMOUS','XDB','APEX_PUBLIC_USER','FLOWS_FILES')

                      I believe that EPG requires ANONYMOUS and XDB to be unlocked.

                          As mentioned earlier, I manually changed the password of ANONYMOUS and XDB to same as schema name.  Will that create any problem?

                            Any other suggestion before I decide for re-installation of APEX????

                            If this is the case, then it is a disaster!!! If this happens on a real time application.........  oh god!!!

                              Still getting the ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE error? If you're not getting the error, but just a blank page check 'view source' - if you've got HTML arriving then it's probably an issue with how you've loaded your images/css.

                              Recheck that your firewalls aren't blocking the port and that you've not installed another product that uses that port.

                              You're not getting many responses from the forum as, most likely, no-one else has come across this problem!

                              Reinstalling APEX shouldn't be a problem - your application isn't deleted, etc. but you can make a backup of the application using the APEXExport and APEXExportSplitter java routines found in open the APEX 'utilities' sub-directories.

                                  Hello Mohannad, Sorry for delayed response as I was out of station. And thanks for your offer to check the real problem, I really appreciate that.  Please let me know your suitable time so that I can be online. BTW, for Andy's response, I check the port 8080 and it is listening. (netstat -an |find /i "listening")  When I right click and 'view page source', that also gives blank page. As per my knowledge, I have not installed any application which blocks 8080. Please send me your ID and password so that I can share my screen. Thanks again. -Anand

However there is no luck :( :( :( It is still showing blank page when I try to login !!!!!!! I have admin privilege on both Database and APEX.  Can somebody help on troubleshoot this. Thanks, -Anand
