    Veridata configuration with MySQL problem

    user7379906

      Hi Gurus,

I'm trying to install GoldenGate Veridata 12c on my Windows VM. When I run the "Fusion Middleware Configuration Wizard", I always got an issue at the step 5, "Page 5 of 12". It's trying to connect to an existing MySQL database, the error message is:

CFGFWK-64219: Failed to bind the schema component data

      .

Could anyone let me know what happened? I did run rcu.bat and created the schemas before this configuration.

      Thanks for your help!

          Hi ,

It seems, there is a problem in the configuration or database connection parameters.

whether 5th step is entering the admin user names and passwords for the Veridata webserver?

Did you create a user and role VERIDATA_ROLE separately for the configuration of Veridata? If yes, in which database have you created it?

          Regards,

          Veera

I'm using MySQL for the repository DB. Step 5 went through. But in Step 6, it got stuck again. No matter what I change, it seems no password fits in. It can't be proceeded to the next screen. Thanks,

              Hi,

Whether there are multiple MySql instances are running in that machine where you are configuring Veridata?

              Regards,

                Hi Veera,

Does Veridata need at least 2 servers to run? Or all Veridata and its agent can be installed on only one server and run on the one server?

                Thanks,

                  Hi ,

I think Veridata does not require two servers to run. It is just a data verification tool.

When installing Oracle GoldenGate Veridata Server, you can have the installer create a database (or schema if using Oracle) for the repository or install the repository objects into an existing database or schema.

The repository can be installed in a database on the same system as the server and web components, or it can be installed on a different system in a

                  multi-tier configuration.

We require a minimum of two agents one to retrieve the data from Source and other from Target, unless you are comparing data within the same database instance. One agent can retrieve rows from multiple databases or schemas within a given database instance. However, one agent cannot retrieve rows from different database instances.

You can install the Java agent on the same system as the one where the database is running, or you can install it on a different system, such as the one where Oracle GoldenGate Veridata Server is installed. When considering where to install the agent, weigh the additional and significant use of network bandwidth that will be incurred if the agent is remote from the database, versus the savings in processing resources on the database host when an agent is not running there.
