Compiler log - clicking on an error opens up a new editor window

    Rajesh C

When I click on an error in the compiler log, instead of taking me to the line in the current editor window, it opens up a new editor with the same file name, instead

The first tab test.sql is my "original" edit window. The new one was opened when I click on the error. This is an issue for a couple of reasons..

      1) The new editor does not carry over the current connection information, so, I'll have to select that again

      2) If you are working on a bigger package in development, pretty soon there will be too many tabs open for the same code.

      3) Closing the newly opened tab also closes the old tab.

Any clue as to how to fix this and why this behavior exists in SQL Developer?
