Happens to me as well on Debian 7 x64, JDK 1.8, Oracle 10g.

Upon opening SQL worksheet for any connection and pressing "Run Script", "Run statement", "Autotrace", "Explain plan", "Clear" and some others, nothing happens and error like this one is thrown into log page.

Error during handleEvent on action 'Run Statement' (id=330).

None of the attached controllers handled the action..

Error during handleEvent on action 'Explain Plan...' (id=564).

None of the attached controllers handled the action..

Additionally, swarm of ClassCastExceptions is thrown to stderr.

Exception while updating action Run Statement

Similar ones are thrown for "Run Script", "Autotrace" every time new worksheet is opened, and also sometimes else, I couldn't catch the precise moment.

That happened to me when I had a startup script assigned in the Preferences.  I removed the startup script, and the issue was resolved.  It's not a long-term fix, but it's something to try to get you going for now.

We had a problem with the startup script in the sdql command line build that was fixed, this could be a related issue. The core dev is aware of this, but a lot of folks are on holiday break. So, stay tuned.

This is Bug 20199438 - ANY STARTUP SCRIPT WILL BREAK CONNECTION FOR WORKSHEET
