how to add newly created ledgers in FDMEE after source accounting entities setup is done

    user4286666

      Hello,

We did FDMEE setup in production in Nov. 2014. At that moment the FDMEE source accounting entities for EBS source shows 80 primary ledgers. In Dec. 2014 we have two new primary ledgers added in EBS. In FDMEE I cannot see the two new ledgers shown in the source accounting entities list. Can you please tell me how to refresh EBS's source accounting entities in FDMEE to show the new ledgers added last month?

Your quick help is highly appreciated since our clients are doing Dec-2014 reconciliation.

      Thanks,

      Hongfei Liu (AT&T)

          Hi,

Have you tried running the Source System initialization in FDMEE?

Test this in a non-prod environment first to see if the new Source Accounting Entities show up... my hunch is they will.

          Thanks.

            Hi,

I just tried source systme initialization on test instance, it worked! Thank you!!!

One more question here. After I  add new ledgers in the enties list, will snapshot import pull balance data for the new ledgers? or do we have to do full refresh mode? Full refresh mode is not what we prefer.

            Thanks!

              Hi,

I believe the first time a Snapshot is run it effectively runs a Full Refresh, as it is "sourcing" the balances from the GL_BALANCES table for the first time (technically its into the FDMEE GL_BALANCES table I believe). Not sure if it has already grabbed the new ledger book balances already.

As always, give it a Test

Out of interest- why do you choose to do a snapshot each time over a Full Refresh? Are you loading to a couple different systems?

we have 3 EBS GL locations and multiple sub-system locations. If we do full refresh for EBS GL import, all related sub-system data will be deleted.

I doubt the sanpshot import will pull new ledger balances.

Do you mean this FDMEE gl balance staging table? AIF_EBS_GL_BALANCES_STG. I don't see new ledger balance data in this staging table at this moment. Snapshot import may not help.

I have two new ledgers created on 12/22/2014. After initialization only ONE ledger instead of two is added in the entities list. Do you know why? Another ledger has no balance data in EBS gl_balances table yet. Below is system innitialization log details:

FYI. We tried snapshot import. It didn't bring in balances for the new ledgers we just added in the entities list. It means EBS GL balances data is selected by using the ledgers selected in the entities list at that moment during full refresh import.
