    Eloqua Reporting Terminologies and Definitions

      Hi Everyone,

       

      As I was beating up myself on everything Eloqua uses as Report vocabulary, I wanted to make sure I can share this with everyone. Here are all report terms and their definitions. Hopefully it helps everyone. I would say use this as a bible when explaining any reports to anyone.

       

      Active Bounce Backs - The number of email addresses that have been marked as questionable because the email could not be sent to the address. These email addresses can be re-tried in case the problem was only a temporary one.

      Agent - A particular agent (user) within Eloqua.

      AutoTracker Email - An email sent through Outlook containing links back to webpages which allows online tracking

      Avg Page Time (hh:mm:ss) - The Average time on a particular page in Hours: Minutes:Seconds.

      Batch Name - The name of the batch.

      Bounce Backs - The number of hard bounces, calculated by counting the number of email addresses that were invalid, out of date or whose email servers were unavailable.

      Campaign Name - The name of the Email Group.

      Click Backs per Link - Click-throughs for each link in the Email. Includes multiple clicks by one recipient.

      Click-throughs - The number of times an email link to the website was clicked

      Click-through Link - Links defined in the selected Email.

      Condition - A condition compares a Profile field or a Company field to a specified value or range of values. Conditions can be created using any of the Profile or Company fields, but are limited to one field and one value.

      Contact List - A list of contacts that meet the criteria of the report. The Contact View selected will determine the Contact Fields displayed.

      Content Tag - A variable associated with a particular HTML webpage describing the business value

      Count - Total Clicks on that link from emails sent as part of this batch (not-unique)

      Distinct Opens - The number of emails opened by recipients of the email. Does not include multiple opens per recipient.

      Distribution List - A collection of grouped contacts for the purpose of an email deployment

      Email - A distinct email (message content and settings)

      Email Address - All email addresses included in the tracked Outlook email. Contact Details, Email History, and Activity Overview information is only available for emails sent to a single email address.

      Email Group - A distinct series of emails for a specific marketing effort

      Email Name - The name of the email.

      Email Type - Indicates the type of email sent and to how many distinct email addresses. The email types are either "HTML Templates" downloaded into Outlook or "Personal" Emails created within Outlook.

      Email to Form Conversion Rate-  The rate at which email recipients are submitting forms. Calculated as follows: (Form Submits from Email / Emails Received ) * 100 Email Visitors: The number of email recipients who have clicked through from links in the email to the website. A recipient may be counted more than once if they have clicked through with different profiles (cookies).

      Emails Received - The number of emails successfully received, calculated as: Emails Sent - Bounce Backs.

      Emails Sent - The total number of emails sent.

      Existing Visitor Click-throughs - The number of unique visitors who have clicked on the email to return to the website, and who had previously been to the website (whether through an email or not).

      Forms - Forms are submitted by website visitors to sign up for newsletters, request information, etc.

      Form Fields - Each individual data input field on a website form is a form field

      Form Submits from Email - The total number of forms submissions driven by the email. These are form submissions that occurred after a recipient clicked through on a link in the email.

      Most Recent Open - Most recent date and time the email was opened.

      New Visitor Click-throughs - The number of unique visitors who clicked on the email to return to the website, and who had not previously been to the website (whether through and email or not).

      Open Rate (%) - "The rate that emails are opened, calculated as follows: (Distinct Email Opens / Emails Received ) x 100 This may exceed 100% if the emails are forwarded and opened by more individuals than the number of original recipients."

      Opens - The total number of recipients that have opened the email. This may occur multiple times per recipient as it includes views from the email client's preview pane. Opens will only register when the email recipient is reading email in HTML format and has images turned on.

      Percentage Opened Email - The percentage of emails that were opened. Calculated as follows: (Distinct Emails Opened/Emails Received) x 100

      Query String - A variable included in the URL which contains information regarding the webpage you are viewing

      Referred Friends - If using a "Refer A Friend" viral marketing component, the number of email addresses referred by email recipients.

      Requests - The number of times a particular Email Template was selected from Eloqua for Microsoft Outlook®

      Sent Date - Date and Time of the completed batch.

      Segments - Definitions of visitor activity criteria that can be used to identify and work with a specific group of Web visitors. By combining simple rules based on information in the visitor Profile into complex rule definitions, you can define any market segment you wish.

      Subject Line - Subject line of tracked email.

      Subscriptions - The total number of contacts who were set to receive the email and whose subscriptions status is set to accept emails. This value will decrease when email recipients unsubscribe.

      Templated Email Sent - The total number of emails sent through Eloqua for Microsoft Outlook® that were template-based emails.

      Total Opens - The total number of opens associated with the contact. This may occur multiple times per recipient as it includes views from the email client's preview pane

      Total Page Time (hh:mm:ss): The total time spent on the particular web page in Hours: Minutes:Seconds.

      Total Page View - The total number of page views by all visitors. A page view is represented by the event of viewing a single website page. A given visit may include one or more page views.

      Unique Visit Click-throughs - The number of unique visits to the website as a result of clicking on one of the links in the email.

      Unsubcribe Rate - The rate at which contacts who have received this batch, have also unsubscribed. Calculated as follows: (Unsubscribes / Emails Received) x 100.

      Unsubscribes - The total number of contacts who received this batch, and have unsubscribed from all email groups.

      Unique Visit Click-throughs - The number of unique visits to the website as a result of clicking on one of the links in the email.

      Unique Visitor Click-throughs - The number of unique contacts (or email address) that returned to the website by clicking on one on the links in the email.

      Visitor Click-through Rate - The percentage of email recipients who visited the website by clicking on a link in the email. Calculated as follows (Email Visitors / Emails Received) x 100.

      Visitor to Form Conversion Rate - The rate at which email recipients who have clicked through from an email are submitting forms. Calculated as follows: (Form Submits from Email / Email Visitors) x 100

      Webpage - Web pages accessed by visitors during the chosen time period. Includes Microsite/Hypersite pages and other web pages with tracking scripts enabled.

      Website Visitors - The number of email recipients who have clicked through from links in the email to the website. A recipient may be counted more than once if they have clicked through with different profiles (cookies).
