Are you committing the data in TOAD before trying to view it in your form? Do you have a where clause in your form that would prevent the data from being displayed? Are you connecting to the same database in both instances?
There are lots of reasons why you might not be seeing the data, but it should work.
The data is commited, and i rechecked by connecting to the backend on a new session of TOAD.
No where clauses..and i am connecting to the right database..
However, something interesting is..when i do a "Count Hits" before i "Execute Query", it says, query will return 1 record ..but when i execute query, it does not return any rows and ends up with "Query cause no records to be retrieved" message.
I created a very simple form, with no triggers and just 2 base table items..
and everything seems to work fine even if i input data through TOAD into the database..
so this issue seems to be form specific which i am not able to deduce..
i dont think i have any kind of post-query triggers in my form, but still this doesnt resolve the issue
How about displaying the blocks LAST_QUERY in your PRE-SELECT trigger to see if you can identify what might be preventing the query from being returned? Or use TOADs SQL Monitor to see what SQL is being executed by your form.
Does the form have a list item? You'll get that message if there is a list item in the form and the data does not match any element in the list.
The same problem may occur for unmatched value of radio button or checkboxes. If you have such components in forms then please check the corresponding values from the database.
Yes, it seems to be an issue with one of the objects such as a list item/radio button eventhough they can be null
anyways, the issues has been resolved now..thank you
