Are there any indicators while we are on 'Columns' or 'Partition' tabs to see which is (are) the partitioning columns? I was just now looking at a interval partitioned table and couldn't find any. Any ideas? or this would be an enhancement?
Why can't you just use the SQL tab for that?
That tab shows the DDL for the table including the partitioning/subpartitioning columns. The 'Columns' and 'Partition' tabs show the individual attributes while the partitioning key might consist of MULTIPLE columns.
I can use it, but I strongly believe it would be a good idea to display it on partition tab (the list of partition columns in the order). It is not about what i can do, for most things I don't even need SD, but I like it because it provides a value added experience, makes my work easier and I just want to make it a tad better.
It's not a bad idea. We're probably not showing it there b/c it's not stored in DBA_TAB_PARTITIONS, so we'd have to join the query to another view, and that would mean slower queries...
