To whom it may concern,
There is a wrong information on SQL Developer download page - Windows 32-bit and 64-bit installation notes say:
"This download does not include the JDK. You can connect to and use any JDK 1.8 or above."
which is not correct.
Thanks, it's fixed now.
That version is certified for Java 7 only, but runs great with Java 8. Note you'll need to dismiss a warning when running 8, but you should be ok.
For version 4.1, Java 8 will be a hard requirement - if you're not running Java 8, 4.1 will not work.
SQLcl will work with a Java 1.7 JRE or higher.
