      Dear All,

We are facing issue in OBIEE Admin tool while creating new repository by selecting data source as Essbase . And also we have shared the document which contains  the steps have done by us to fix that issue.

Issue in Selecting Data Source as Essbase

While creating new repository in Admin tool by selecting data source as Essbase, the following error will occur,

“Admintool could not load Essbase driver. Please check the configuration.”

      Short description about our environment

In our scenario, BI Server running in Linux and Admin Tool running in Windows.

Work Done in Windows Machine (Admin Tool)

      1. 1. Set Environment Variable of PATH and ESSBASEPATH as “C:\Oracle\Middleware\EPMSystem11R1\products\Essbase\EssbaseClient”
      2. Adding ESSBASE information to bi-init.cmd
        1. File located at “C:\Program Files\Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition Plus Client  Tools\oraclebi\orahome\bifoundation\server\bin”
        2. b. Set ESSBASEPATH as “C:\Oracle\Middleware\EPMSystem11R1\ products\Essbase\EssbaseClient”
        3. c. Set PATH as %ESSBASEPATH%\bin;%PATH%
        4. Save & Close the file.

Work Done in Linux Server (BI Server)

      1. Alter the .bash_profile for exporting the value of PATH and ESSBASEPATH variables,
        1. a. export ESSBASEPATH = /app/oracle/biee/Oracle_BI1/clents/epm/Essbase/EssbaseRTC
        2. b. export PATH = :$ESSBASEPATH/bin
      2. Adding ESSBASE information to bi-init.cmd
        1. a. File located at “/app/oracle/biee/instances/instance1/bifoundation/OracleBIApplication /coreappplication/setup”
        2. Check the value for ESSBASEPATH and PATH mentioned as “/app/oracle/biee/Oracle_BI1 /clents/epm/Essbase/EssbaseRTC” and :${ESSBASEPATH}/bin respectively.
        3. If the value is mismatched then update the same as mentioned above in that file(bi-init.cmd)
        4. Save & Close the file.
      3. Update information of ESSBASE in OPMN.XML file,
        1. a. File located at “/app/oracle/biee/instances/instance1/config/OPMN/opmn”
        2. Under the “ias-component id” tag, locate the line as
        3. c. <variable id="ESSBASEPATH" value="$ORACLE_HOME/clients/epm/Essbase/EssbaseRTC"/>
        4. d. <variable id="PATH" value="$ORACLE_HOME/common/ODBC/Merant/7.0.1/lib$:$ORACLE_HOME/bifoundation/server/bin$:$ORACLE_HOME/bifoundation/web/bin$:$ORACLE_HOME/clients/epm/Essbase/EssbaseRTC/bin$:$ORACLE_HOME/bifoundation/odbc/lib$:$ORACLE_INSTANCE$:$ORACLE_HOME/lib$:$PATH$:$/bin" append="true"/>
        5. If the value is mismatched then update the same as mentioned above in that file(opmn.xml)
        6. Save & Close the file.
      4. Restart OPMN
        1. Navigate to following location,
        2. b. “/app/oracle/biee/instances/instance1/bin”
        3. c. Enter the command as ./opmnctl status/stopall/startall

But the issue was not resolved and we expecting your support as well as valuable suggestions to overcome that issue.
