Handling encoding characters in a workflow generated file using ICONV(Unix)

      Hello All,

We have a workflow that generates .csv file and FTP to the client serer. The issue is: There are below list of encoding characters in the .csv file and when we tried to convert these characters using ICONV, it's throwing error "illegal input sequence at position".

Below are the commands what we have tried:

      cat test_enc1.csv | iconv -f UTF-8 -t WINDOWS-1252//TRANSLIT > test_enc1_new.csv

      cat test_enc1.csv | iconv -c -f UTF-8 -t WINDOWS-1252//TRANSLIT > test_enc1_new.csv

      cat test_enc1.csv | iconv -c -f UTF-8 -t WINDOWS-1252//IGNORE > test_enc1_new.csv

      Encoded character

      ¿

      Ã

      Â

      ¤

      ¥

As per our analysis, UTF-8 is not able to recognize the character and we tried with UTF-16 also. But did not work.

If anyone face similar issue or if anyone have inputs, kindly provide us the suggestions.

      Thanks in advance.

      Regards,

      Mallika.
