Cloning EBS R12.2 With new Patch applied

      Hi all,

Supposing I done this process for cloning.

      1. Run preclone at apps & db tier.

      2. Applied latest AD & TXK patches.

      3. Backup apps & db tier.

      4. Copy to target server and run post cloning.

My question is, Are the latest AD & TXK patches lost? or included?

I am just confused if the preclone needed to be run again to be able to extract the latest patched applied.

Just as what you do when you and a new .dbf files to your database. Which will not be included if you do not run preclone.

      Please help...

      Thanks,

      mk

I suggest you to perform below steps.

          1. Run preclone on apps & db tier.

          2. Copy clone directories from sources to target.

          3. rerun adcfgclone.pl.

          Best Regards,

          Ajay

            Hi Maria,

My question is, Are the latest AD & TXK patches lost? or included?

If you apply a new Rapid Clone or AutoConfig update to the system, you must execute adpreclone.pl again on the database tier and applications tier to apply the new files into the clone directory structures to be used during the cloning configuration stage. Furthermore, if you patch Oracle Fusion Middleware or make configuration changes to the Oracle E-Business Suite WebLogic Domain, you must execute adpreclone.pl again on the applications tier to rebuild the Oracle Fusion Middleware home.

Referance : Cloning Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.2 with Rapid Clone (Doc ID 1383621.1)

            Regards,

            Kiran

              Thanks dear friend,

So I need to run preclone every time I apply new patches. This means that If I run the preclone ahead of the patch apply, I need to apply again the patch to the target clone instance?

But how about the patch being recorded in the patch table at database side? which I think get carried out to the database even if I do not run db preclone.

For example, If I apply patch '5989593'

              select BUG_ID, BUG_NUMBER, LAST_UPDATE_DATE from APPLSYS.AD_BUGS where BUG_NUMBER in

              ('5989593');

The patch is recorded in the database and this seems that my apps tier is not in sync with my db tier at the target clone instance? I am confused.

              Please help clarify doubts.

              Thanks a lot,
