Community Participation Matters #java20

It's important to reflect on the importance community plays in the ongoing Java renaissance.  So many of you have made valued contributions over the years in your own way.  I can list 1,000s of examples from so many of you.

One area that often gets forgotten or not much spotlight are the efforts from Open Source Project members who do testing on Java early access builds. The contribution of these projects towards the quality of the JDK is extremely valuable for the entire Java ecosystem.

As mentioned in a previous blog entry by Mark Reinhold (Java Architect), for JDK 8 over 400 of the more than 8,000 bug and enhancement issues were reported externally.  The following early testers who submitted significant bug reports deserve special mention:
