OEM 12c FMW Patch recommendations don't refresh

JPADARO_CDEMay 28 2015 — edited Jun 1 2015

Hi guys.

First, my enviroment:

OEM 12c

Fussion Middleware 12.1.3

SOA Infrastructure with bam server and soa server (AdminServer, bam\_server1, soa\_server1).

So, OEM 12c recommends WebLogic patch set for domains (20223202) and SOA Bundle patch for soa infrastructure domains (19707784).

Then, i applied manually both patch into Fussion Middleware home (opatch apply). Both patched are successfully applied:

[oracle@SoaSuiteInter1 ~]$ opatch lsinventory | grep 20223202

Patch 20223202 : applied on Wed May 27 17:49:05 CLT 2015

[oracle@SoaSuiteInter1 ~]$ opatch lsinventory | grep 19707784

Patch 19707784 : applied on Wed May 27 17:49:05 CLT 2015

 19598400, 20292386, 19052376, 19446806, 19381379, 19707784, 17466135

Ok, patches were applied.

WebLogic refresh job run successfully after patched, and Gc Harvest runs without warnings.

But, today (15 hours after patch), OEM 12c still recommends apply the same patches.

I need execute another task?

Thanks

First check if the job "Refresh From My Oracle Support" is running fine from "Enterprise - Job - Activity" on the main page of the Oracle Cloud Control 12c Console. If you require the information to be current immediately, then, Manually run the "Refresh Host Configuration" job:

On the Main page select "Enterprise - Job - Library". From the "Create Library Job" drop-down list select "Refresh from My Oracle Support". Provide a name for this job and save it into the job library. "Submit" the newly create job.

Allow a brief time after completion of the "Refresh from My Oracle Support" job for the patching information, including recommend patching, to be updated in the Cloud Control console.

Thanks

Hi Amit, thanks for help.

The "Refresh From My oracle Support" is running daily. Anyway, i executed manually the "Refresh" job, but nothing.

Note: when i patch a host from Cloud Control, the patch recommendation disappears from patch lists. But now, i patched SOA and WLS infrastructure manually, directly in the hosts. Patch was successfully applied but Cloud Control recommendations still offersme the patch.

Greetings.

Hi,

Sounds like the patch changes in the host machines are not been reflected on OEM even after refresh ( manual / auto). That is weird behavior. Looks like the host machine (its agent & targets) and OMS are not in sync.

Presuming you had attempted to re-synch and that failed with no joy .

Have you tried

a) stopping the agent on that host machine.

b) remove the host from OEM

c) restart agent

d) rediscover the host and targets..

If that works and shows the right / recommended patches applied , you may be better off restarting the agent or even look at the clearing the emd _upload cache etc.

This is kind of strange. I suggest to open SR. Please update thread if you find the solution as I will be interested to know :-)

Thanks

I wouldn't go as far as rediscovering targets, as you'll lose all the history and that's just not a good answer to solve a problem, should be last resort.    I would check the Oracle Home associated w/ the SOA targets, and see if the patches are listed on the Patches tab.  If not, then the updated inventory might not have been uploaded yet.   Go to the Host, and select Configuration and refresh the configuration to upload the latest.   This should happen automatically but if the patches aren't listed, it might be stale.   If that doesn't work, definitely open an SR.

Here's steps to force the refresh:

Go to Targets > All Targets

    - For each agent and wls targets

    - select the Corresponding Oracle_home

    - click on "Oracle Home" (Top left of the screen

    - click on Configuration > Last Collected

    - click on Actions > Refresh

    - go back to the "Patched Applied" Tab

    - patches should be listed and recommendations gone

Still wrong. I remove host and reasign, and nothing.

I will open a SR, and if i can solved this issue, i will update this thread.

Thanks guys..
