why do I get an error when using service name instead of sid on sql developer 4.1

Hi Guys, I've been using sql developer since the version 3 up to 4.0 and I've always used the service name instead of the sid when defining my connections.

Since I updated the sqldeveloper from 4.0 to 4.1 the connections stopped working and its complaining about not having the sid set when I have the service name.

Why is this happening now? what changed from 4.0 to 4.1 that make this break?

I got the following messages when trying to open a connection and when testing a connection string.

      (opening a connection)

An error was encountered performing the requested operation:

IO Error: Invalid connection string format, a valid format is: "host:port:sid"

      Vendor code 17002

      (testing the connection string)

Status : Failure -Test failed: IO Error: Invalid connection string format, a valid format is: "host:port:sid"
