      R12.2 Cloning Process

We have a situation where we need to build two external tier nodes which will not have have shared application node.Pls let me know which steps needs to followed and which not.

All metalink notes talk of having a shared application tier.

      following below notes

Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.2 Configuration in a DMZ (Doc ID 1375670.1)

          All,

          My steps explained below

From note:- Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.2 Configuration in a DMZ

Section 5.3.2.14: Copy the Required Application Tier File System to the First Secondary External Application Tier Node
Section 5.3.2.15: Execute the Post Clone Script on the Run File System
Section 5.3.2.16: Execute the Post Clone Script on the Patch File System
Section 5.3.2.17: Configure a Load Balancer Infront of the Secondary External Application Tier Node

We will not do the following section

Section 5.3.2.18: Export the Required Application Tier File System From the Primary External Application Tier Node
Section 5.3.2.19: Mount the Required Application Tier File System to the Secondary External Application Tier Node
Section 5.3.2.20: Prepare the Pairs File for Addition of the Secondary External Application Tier Node
Section 5.3.2.21 Prepare the Required Scripts for Adding the Secondary External Application Tier Node
Section 5.3.2.22: Add the secondary external application tier node to the farm

We will then do the this section again for secondary external application node

Section 5.3.2.14: Copy the Required Application Tier File System to the Second Secondary External Application Tier Node
Section 5.3.2.15: Execute the Post Clone Script on the Run File System
Section 5.3.2.16: Execute the Post Clone Script on the Patch File System
Section 5.3.2.17: Configure a Load Balancer Infront of the Secondary External Application Tier Node

Then at last we do this,

Section 5.3.2.23: Sync Up the Context File and Update Configuration On All Nodes

Pls confirm if I am correct.Did I miss anything else.Pls let me know

          Regards

Having non-shared file system wont affect the basic server building process. your steps looks ok

            regards

Can you confirm the syntax and values from you previous clone here performed in QU.

Section 5.3.2.23: Sync Up the Context File and Update Configuration On All Nodes

Cloning Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.2 with Rapid Clone (Doc ID 1383621.1)

Register the new topology from the newly added application tier node.

If OHS is enabled on the newly added node, perform the following steps on that node:

              perl $FND_TOP/patch/115/bin/txkSetAppsConf.pl -contextfile=$CONTEXT_FILE \

              -configoption=removeMS -oacore=testserver1.example.com:7201 -forms=testserver2.example.com:7601

Perform the following steps on the other application tier nodes participating in the same cluster where this node is added:

              perl <FND_TOP>/patch/115/bin/txkSetAppsConf.pl -contextfile=<CONTEXT_FILE> \

              -configoption=addMS -oacore=testserver1.example.com:7205 -oafm=testserver2.example.com:7605

Below are the nodes which are primary nodes with shared apps top

              primary.com

              secondary.com

Below are the nodes which are added

              New irec node :- irec.com

              New isup node :- isup.com
