Did you try searching the web for "no more data to read from socket oracle 11g"? See the following old discussion from the JDBC forum...
If you read through it, there was speculation that the cause may have been an old JDBC driver version. Ultimately, however, the poster stated that a patch to the database server fixed the problem. Your issue is unlikely to be specific to SQL Developer. So, to start, you can try downloading and installing the latest Oracle Instant Client (for 11g or even 12c) to get an updated JDBC driver, then configure SQL Developer to use that client via
Tools > Preferences > Database > Advanced. If that does not help, then a database patch may be indicated.
