In this case, you can either boot an Solaris installation media through the ILOM interface, or use an AI server with an associated IPS server. The IPS server should content a full repository, and if you want you can also add the SRU packages.

Where can I find a recipe that shows how to use the {0} ok boot net parameters for booting an network IPS .iso in the text mode to this T4-4?  My Solaris T5-4 with 5.11 11.2.7.0.4 is up with 11.2.12.6.0 incremental .iso.published in the IPS and is network accessible.

Also have the T4-4 ILOM up, but have had a challenge for the 'Remote Control' | 'use serial redirection' | 'Launch Remote' to work properly from a RHEL 6 workstation and its cdrom.   Can there be settings to do this boot from the ILOM console?

You cannot from an IPS ISO file. What you need is a bootable image as I explained in my previous note. They are available there : http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/server-storage/solaris11/downloads/install-2245079.html

For your problem with the Remote Control, please check that you use an 32-bit Java.

Thank you for the bootable image information. I am downloading again a sol-11_2-ai-sparc.iso as well as a sol-11_2-text-sparc.iso. 

If we place these onto the IPS AI Install Server (T5-4 Solaris 11.2) how will they be accessed by the T4-4 at its boot prompt?  The IPS AI install server (T5-4) is up and network accessible (/net/<name>/export/IPSpkgrepos/...).  We have another Solaris 5.10 update 11 install server setup where we use the 'boot net' command to install Solaris 10u11. 

Where is a recipe for booting the T4-4 on the T5-4 Solaris 5.11 11.2 IPS AI server for either the text or ai SPARC .iso?.  There is no cdrom to boot from on the T4-4.  I am now not able to run anything on the T4-4, where its GUI (v3.2.4.1) is not working from a SunSystem FW upgrade 8.6.0.b,  It has what we think is a java version challenge.  We do have the net mgmt. port active to the T4-4.

We have yet to find any recipe on how to boot either of these sol-11.2_ai-spac.iso or sol-11_2-text-sparc.iso from the T5-4IPS AI install server .

As the first link I posted explains it, you should configure the AI server first and create an appropriate XML manifest : Setting Up an AI Server - Installing Oracle® Solaris11.2 Systems

You must also create a full IPS repository if this is still not the case, and if you want the SRU packages also you can also add them : Copying IPS Package Repositories - Copying and Creating Package Repositories in Oracle® Solaris 11.2

And depending how you configure your AI server, you have then just to run the "boot" command at OBP prompt.

Where can this recipe be found?

The T5-4 is stood up as an AI IPS server, but I need direction how to setup T5-4 so T4-4 can OBP boot from this IPS .iso.

The T5-4 has been setup as a IPS AI on Solaris updated to 11.2.12.6.0.  As far as I can tell, not using DHCP, and running installadm: create-service created a service solaris11_2_12_6_0-sparc.  The Image path back on the IPS AI install server points to /export/aiimages/solaris11_2_12_6_0-sparc directory.  The Publishers: is solaris   file:///export/IPSpkgrepos/Solaris/.

After running the installadm create-service it created in /etc/netboot a wanboot.conf file for this service.

On the T4-4 OBP boot prompt, I've entering

'setenv network-boot-arguments host-ip=<T4-4 client ip>,router-ip=<router ip for this network>,subnet-mask=<subnet-mask for this network>,hostname=<ip for host name>,file=/net/<T5-4 IPS AI hostname>/etc/netboot/wanboot.conf | /net/<T5-4 IPS Ai hostname>/export/aiimages/solaris11_2_12_6_0-sparc | /etc/export/IPSpkgrepos/Solaris/.  Either of these file settings do not boot the T4-4 into a text install mode 11.2 install.

At the OBP, 'boot net -v - install'
, we get:

Timed out waiting for Autonegotation to complete

Check cable and try again

Waiting for Link

Can't open boot device

Please help me understand what I am missing to boot this T4-4 from the IPS AI 11.2 install server (T5-4).

What do I need to do on the IPS Ai for the HTTP: Bad Response: 403 Forbidden message?  something need shared?

I have 'snoop' running on my T5-4 IPS AI install server with successful TCP response being noted between both the IPS AI server and the T4-4 Client, but fails for a DNS for the T5-4 arpa lookup, ... DNS R  Error: 3(Name Error).  The DNS T4-4 is a successful lookup.  The other attempts had no snoop responses.

The file=http://<T5-4 IPS AL IP>:7000/cgi-bin/wanboot-cgi for the T5-4 appears to work for the root_server.

I don't understand why you are using port 7000 above; installadm configures AI services on port 5555 unless you have modified the install/server service to listen on port 7000, which is not mentioned above.

Sorry for the omission on the port 7000, but leaving off the '- install' ran through a 'TEXT' install of 11.2.12.6.0 version and the T4-4 is now has a version of

solaris 11.2.12.6.0 installed on this T4-4.

We are finding missing pkg SUNWman pages and missing ldm packages.

Attempt to install on the T4-4 with:

pkg install -nv -g https://<T5-4 IPC AI IP>:7000 SUNWman fails, looking for the https://pkg.oracle.com/solaris/support URL. Fails with an error pinting to the default URL setting: https://pkg.oracle.com/solaris/support'.   Needing the proper pkg install options/parameters to repoint to our now T5-4 IPC AI Install server.

Have the ability to see through a browser https://<T5-4 IP>:80 | 81 the T5-4 IPC AI packages.  And can search the repository finding both the SUNWman and SUNWldm... packages.  Need to understand how this webserver might be used to install onto the T4-4.

Is thers also a way to install solaris-large-server through the TEXT install to get these man and ldm packaged already installed?

What is your publisher set to?  If it is looking for the support repository, then you would need to change it to your local repository. I think that is what you meant by https://T5-4IP:80. You can do this with

set-publisher -G '*' -g https://<T5-4 IP>:80 solaris

By the way, SUNWman is a legacy SVR4-compatible legacy package.  system/manual is the IPS equivalent, and it is part of the text installer, which uses the solaris-large-server group package. Same case with SUNWldm, which is the SVR4-equivalent of system/ldoms/ldomsmanager. If you want to install all the packages that are part of solaris-large-server, you can do that with:

pkg install solaris-large-server
