    INVALID OBJECTS SO MANY

    Beauty_and_dBest

      Hi ALL,

      EBS R12.1.3

I run select * from dba_objects where status ='INVALID' and I got to plenty.

If I compile them I get error > ORA-24344: Success with Compilation Error

      Capture.JPG

Are these objects part of the original ebs apps or a custom  one?

How do I resolve my error?

I also run utlrp.sql but it hangs for a long time, hence I aborted it.

      Thanks a lot,

      jc

Don't abort utlrp. Let it run

while it is running from another session monitor the count of invalids

            sqlplus "/as sysdba" -- select count(*) from dba_objects where status='INVALID';

This will tell you if count is coming down or not.

Once utlrp is completed do below for invalids

login as owner of that object and compile it manually

            eg.

            sqlplus apps/apps_password

            alter package ASO_QUOTE_PUB_W compile body;

            It will finish with error.

below command will give you exact error.

            show error package ASO_QUOTE_PUB_W

Once you know the errors try resolve those.

            regards

It has been running 1 day and the count if invalid does not change, so I aborted it.

What was previous action that caused so many invalids ? DB Upgrade, patching etc ?

I would suggest to trace back to action which caused this.

                    regards

Could the aborted run of utlrp.sql resulted to lots of invalid?

                        Previous Activity:

Actually the functional consultant just encountered error in the process, and suspected that invalid object might be the cause?

So she asked to compile invalid objects. Does her setup may cause the invalid objects?

Are the above invalid objects related to the errors in AP below?

Upon Payment Entry we encountered below errors just now, for your assistance please.

Upon checking with ERP, we still encounter the error we sent  last Friday.

                          Hi jenna

From the Payment Screen Shots, seems some changes are done related to AP Accounting Setups, hence the below packages are listed as Invalid Objects

APPS XLA_00200_AAD_S_000006_BC_PKG PACKAGE BODY INVALID  --- Seeded Oracle Setups for Payables Encumbrance

APPS XLA_00200_AAD_S_000011_PKG PACKAGE BODY INVALID         ---Seeded Oracle Setups for Payables NON-Encumbrance

The above packages should be Valid in all cases, if it is invalid then it indicates some manual setup changes are done in the instance or some Patch Issues(may missing dependency files), check the dba_errors for the exact issues.

And more over "ORA-24344: Success with Compilation Error" this error comes when a package contains some dynamic sqls/procedures having compilation errors. So you can review the specific packages on this point.

                          Thanks,

                          Srawan

                            Thanks Srawan

So even if I only compiled cleanly the two packages above which is related to the AP error, then we are good to go? or the payment can push though?

Or I still clean compile all?

Where can I find the dba_errors? Is it a view for all errors?

                            Thanks again.

I suspect something else. Just functional setup would not cause invalids.

check the table dba_registry and check for status of db components. and see if any of status is INVALID. Invalid status for RAC is ok if you are not using RAC in your database.

If everything is valid then I think you need to run utlrp again.

                                regards

                                  Do you mean I run> select * from dba_registry?

What values or data should I check?

                                    Hi,

The below accounting packages gets invalid if customer /user changes any thing in the Accounting Setups.

XLA_00200_AAD_S_000006_BC_PKG PACKAGE BODY INVALID  --- Seeded Oracle Setups for Payables Encumbrance

APPS XLA_00200_AAD_S_000011_PKG PACKAGE BODY INVALID         ---Seeded Oracle Setups for Payables NON-Encumbrance

And first check these Invalids first, since these stops the accounting of transactions.

You can run the Valid Application Accounting Definition Program , by providing the respective ledger and "Un Compiled Status " Parameter as "Y" so that these xla related packages gets valid.

And if there is any issues with the RAC or dba_registry entries all the packages gets Invalid, now here we see only few packages are there.

and you can check it out the errors for these invalid packages using the below sql

                                    select * from dba_errors where name = '&&PackageName';

                                    Thanks,

                                    Srawan
