This has been happening every once in a while for database the databases
that I monitor in grid control.
The troubleshooting is the same for unix or windows.
The first thing to do is look stop and start the agent.
emctl stop agentIf the restart of the agent then try
emctl start agent
emctl clearstateAlso will the following command show if there are files that
need to be uploaded to the OEM Grid Control repository.
emctl status agentIf files need to be uploaded use
emctl uploadIf the status still does not show as being correct,
stop the agent with the following command.
emctl stop agentClean the log files from the $ORACLE_HOME\sysman\log for Oracle Agent.
For one of the hosts that I am monitoring
Start the agent with following command.
emctl start agentLook at the files in the log directory.
In my case I have had to put the host name into the host
that is being monitored into the host file of the machine that
is running the Grid control repository.
If the database credentials are not set correctly you will get
the same error.
