unable to use git on ssh

Trying to setup git with ssh with ssh_keys in SQL Developer on Mac 10.10.

      $> tail ~/.sqldeveloper/system4.
       [20:34:17.758 CDT 23.09.15] git ls-remote –heads ssh://username@remote.example.edu/nfs/git-repo/test.git
       [20:34:17.984 CDT 23.09.15] ssh://username@remote.example.edu/nfs/git-repo/test.git: java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException

      From command line

      $> git ls-remote –heads ssh://username@remote.example.edu/nfs/git-repo/test.git
Pseudo-terminal will not be allocated because stdin is not a terminal.
       Killed by signal 1.

      but this work in terminal

      $> git clone ssh://username@remote.example.edu/nfs/git-repo/test.git ../test5
      Cloning into '../test5'...

      remote: Total 3 (delta 0), reused 0 (delta 0)
      Receiving objects: 100% (3/3), done.
      Checking connectivity... done.

      $> git remote -v
      origin ssh://username@remote.example.edu/nfs/git-repo/test.git(fetch)
      origin ssh://username@remote.example.edu/nfs/git-repo/test.git(push)

Any ideas of other logs to look for more info on?
