how to filter snippets in SQL Developer

    user627443

I have a lot of snippets in SQL Developer. It takes a long time to find a snippets by going through the long list.

Is there a way/extension to filter my list like sql history window?

          no

but you might want to use the SQL Code Templates instead. You can name them and call them by name using the keyboard in the worksheet...MUCH faster.

But it doesn't make much sense to add them to the SQL Code Templates due to the list is so long even I put them into different categories.

It is quick to call the snippets from Code Templates by name only if you can remember them.

I add a feature request for Snippet Filter a few months ago but still no response.

It will a very time saving feature for someone like me using Snippets on a daily basis.

I even tried  to do a lot of research see if I can develop an extension myself with basic Java skill, but no luck so far finding any recent/decent documentation.

Much appreciated if you guys consider implementing it.
