I don't know, why do I need the integrated WLS? It doesn't seem to want to work without it. I need an environment where I can at least make RIDC calls from an ADF app so I need JDeveloper
I see. Then, you need it because of ADF (that needs to be deployed somewhere), don't you? In this case, you will certainly need both corresponding versions of ADF and RIDC, which is 12.2.x
Since 12.2.1 is the first such version, available only for a couple of weeks, it might have teething issues, so please, be patient, if something does not work as expected.
Yes Jiri 11g would probably have been a better starting point but ho hum. I'm just building a 12.2.1 JDeveloper VM and I'll install WLS Infrastructure for the ADF, I'm very green on all this so I need a base from which to start making RIDC calls that allows me to work within the context of ADF.
It's just an idea, but if you don't break through with 12.2.1 you can try WS calls (wsdl-based). It'll do the same job, though a bit slower, and it should be quite version independent.
Either way, please, keep us posted - I'm sure your results will be interesting to the community.
I will need to test this and see if there is a known issue with the jdev-ridc combination .Will keep you posted once more details are figured out .
FYI I was trying to compile the project in here
I built a VM with JDeveloper 12.2.1, only using the integrated WLS and it added the extension OK. Most of the on-line links show the extension appearing under preferences but I now know it shows under help -> about->extensions tab. The RIDC declarations in Amdrejus' bean are now located whereas before it couldn't find them. I tried to run it and it compiled but would not deploy, reason unknown to me, I don't yet know where the logs are. I think I will start with a very simple form with one button to make RIDC calls and see how that goes.
Hi Martin ,
Have you been able to complete the test and see how jdev 12.2.x and ridc 12.2.x works?
No, This is back-burner research so I haven't had time to work out what's going wrong
