    Missing folders under $ORACLE_HOME/appsutil directory after upgrade

    953361

      Hello experts,

      Recently we have upgraded our database from 11.2.0.1.0 to 12.1.0.2.0 which we are using along with Oracle EBS 12.1.3. I did applied all the interoperability patches as a part of db upgrade.

      I did regenerated appsutil.zip and copied over to the DB node. but when I extracted I found out some folders are missing under appsutil directory (eg, clone). and I am not able to regenerate environment specific files using  perl adcfgclone.pl dbTechStack.

      Please see below directory structure:

      ==============================

      [oracle@xxxxdb1 appsutil]$ pwd
      /u01/app/oracle/product/12.1.0.2/dbhome_1/appsutil

      [oracle@xxxxdb1 appsutil]$ ls -ltr
      drwxr-xr-x 2 oracle dba  4096 Nov 18 11:50 sql
      drwxr-xr-x 3 oracle dba  4096 Nov 18 11:50 java
      drwxr-xr-x 2 oracle dba  4096 Nov 18 11:50 media
      drwxr-xr-x 4 oracle dba  4096 Nov 18 11:50 perl
      drwxr-xr-x 3 oracle dba  4096 Nov 18 11:50 html
      drwxr-xr-x 3 oracle dba  4096 Nov 18 12:02 out
      drwxr-xr-x 3 oracle dba  4096 Nov 18 12:02 scripts
      drwxr-xr-x 3 oracle dba  4096 Nov 18 12:02 install
      -rw-r--r-- 1 oracle dba 14485 Nov 18 12:10 XXX_xxxxdb1.xml
      drwxr-xr-x 3 oracle dba  4096 Nov 18 12:11 log
      drwxr-xr-x 2 oracle dba  4096 Nov 18 12:22 template
      drwxr-xr-x 3 oracle dba  4096 Nov 18 12:33 bin
      drwxr-xr-x 3 oracle dba  4096 Nov 18 12:38 temp

      Any help would be much appreciated.

      Thanks in advance.

          Please run "perl adpreclone.pl dbTier" and this should create $ORACLE_HOME/appsutil/clone directory.

          Thanks,

          Hussein

            Thanks Hussein for your reply.

            I did follow below steps and this resolved my issue.

            ==================================================================

            1. On the Application Tier (as the APPLMGR user):

            2. Log in to the APPL_TOP environment and source the environment file.

            3. Create appsutil.zip file: "perl <AD_TOP>/bin/admkappsutil.pl".

            (This will create appsutil.zip in $APPL_TOP/admin/out/appsutil.zip)

            4. Copy or FTP the appsutil.zip file to the RDBMS $ORACLE_HOME.

            5. On the Database Tier (as the ORACLE user):

            $ cd $ORACLE_HOME

            $ unzip -o appsutil.zip

            6. Generate the Database Context File:

            Context File Creation on UNIX

            $ cd $ORACLE_HOME

            $ . <SID>_<HOST>.env

            $ cd $ORACLE_HOME/appsutil/bin

            $ perl adbldxml.pl tier=db appsuser=<APPSuser> appspasswd=<APPSpwd>

            $ cd $ORACLE_HOME/appsutil/bin

            $ adconfig.sh contextfile=<CONTEXT> appspass=<APPSpwd>

            After running the these steps, all files and directories are now present.

            Thanks, Nishant
