# OBIEE Gauge - How to limit decimal values in the footer field ?

Hi,

Does anyone has an idea about limiting decimal values in the gauge footer ? Actually I would like to display row value along with measure value in the footer. I have tried round, truncate etc and none of them actually worked.

OBIEE Version : 11.1.1.7.0

Thanks & Regards,
Clinton

Hi,

Go to criteria tab and edit the column format. There you can config # of decimal

Hi Felipe,

Thanks for your feedback. I have tried that option as well but it did not work.

Basically I am using a formula to derive Achievement % as I have shown below which is used in the Gauge Rows section

Formula :

round(((  ( FILTER("Reservation Dashboards Data"."Quantity" USING ("Reservation Dashboards Data"."Results" = 'Sales'))) / ( FILTER(FILTER("Reservation Dashboards Data"."Target" USING ("Time Dim"."Time Value" ='01-'||upper('@{month}{Nov}')||'-'||'@{year}{2015}')) USING ("Reservation Dashboards Data"."Results" = 'Target')) )))*100,1)

If I place the same achievement field in the measures section, I will  have values with 1 decimal point as per the data format of the column but I if I use in the rows section, decimal limitation doesn't work.

Any suggestions ?

Thanks & Regards,
Clinton

Hi,

If you set columns format for 1 decimal digit and then drag and drop that to a table what happens?

What does "Achieved @3: ( @2 )"  look like in a narrative?

I'm wondering since you are forcing a textual representation of the measure value it is being treated as an attribute.

Hi Felipe,

It works fine if I use that column in a table.

Basically my requirement is to show measure value as an attribute value in the footer section of the gauge.

Hi Thomas,

Yes,you are right. Our business requirement is to show measure value as an attribute. Any work around for this issue ?

Hi,

try to use

Substring(cast('10,233' as char) FROM 1 FOR cast(Locate(',',cast('10,233' as char)) as int) + 1)

Change '10,233' by your column formula
