    ORA-28500: connection from ORACLE to a non-Oracle system returned this message:

    ora_1978

      I am connecting my sql from oracle . Bith are in windows. I am able to create a db link . But getting error when i access the table. Please provide the solution.

       

      SQL> select * from employee_master@cart_test1;

      select * from employee_master@cart_test1

                                    *

      ERROR at line 1:

      ORA-28500: connection from ORACLE to a non-Oracle system returned this message:

      [Generic Connectivity Using ODBC][MySQL][ODBC 3.51 Driver]Can't connect to

      MySQL server on '10.44.11.91' (10061) (SQL State: S1000; SQL Code: 2003)

      ORA-02063: preceding 2 lines from CART_TEST1

          The errors are being returned by your MySQL database and so are actually MySQL error codes.  You'd need to follow up on a MySQL forum.
