    cloning of only RDBMS

    2907350

I want to clone only the database on the target. If I have the Apps Home and database home on the target and I want to clone the database from source to target.

      1. I created a backup of the control file on source.

      2. I copied the codes below from the backed up file to an sql file I created n the target. I removed only the control files in the data folder on target.

      3. Next I run the sql script as sysdba.

      STARTUP NOMOUNT

          Hi,

Make sure all files exists on the provided location "/u01/VISION/db/data/". if all files are located on the specified location then make sure it has proper privilegses.

Also your instance is already started. So next time dont start up your instance if u are using the above script. As this script already contains the start nomount command.

To make clone of your EBS instance, you have to do preclone first on source instance and then clone on target using backup from source. That backup may be hot or cold. Secondly, for specific to this error, make sure that there should not by any instance running on same sid.

                hello,

I normally to the cloning of EBSR12.2 as per Cloning Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.2 with Rapid Clone (Doc ID 1383621.1)

For the database cloning, I backup the control file on source as trace, I copy only the data folder in db folder on target. The old data folder I remove. The control files I remove. I run the above sql script as sysdba. I run the cleanup FND_CONC_CLONE.SETUP_CLEAN. Then i run the temporary files command from the backed up control file to create the temp files. Then I run autoconfig for the database node. It is a bit more manual. What's the difference between the clone in the above metalink doc and this one?

                Thanks and Rgds
