How do I correct file permissions?

      Hi ALL,

      EBS R12.1.3

      Rhel5 & 6

I encountered a weird behavior/happenings to our backup files.

      I am cloning our R12.1.3  OEL5.3  to a new server with RHEL6.5

I run preclone then, I made a cold backup of the entire folder for apps and database  tiers which are the following:

      /u01/applmgr/PROD  (entire apps tier)

      /u01/oracle/PROD    (entire db tier)

I shutdown the apps at database. Then I compressed backup the folders using:

      tar -zcvf  applmgr.tar.gz   /u01/applmgr/PROD

      tar -zcvf  oracler.tar.gz   /u01/oracle/PROD

Then I copy it to another new server for CLONING.

Then I run the corresponding command to unzip tar.

To my surprise all the folders and files under it have all  rwxrwxrwx

Example are the following data folder:

      [root@erp2 apps_st]# cd data/

      [root@erp2 data]# ls -lrt

      total 85983508

I know this is not the permission from the source database

How did this happened? Is this copy corrupted? How can I correct the permissions?

I have been doing tar backups  many times, and the previous jobs were okay.

      Please help...

      Thanks a lot,

      jc
