Downgrading DB from 11.2.0.4 back to 11.2.0.2

Will RiceJan 27 2016 — edited Jan 31 2016

We need guidance for Downgrading from 11.2.0.4 back to 11.2.0.2. Can someone expand on the statement in Oracle Doc ID 883335.1 that says  "If the goal is to have the instance back EXACTLY as it was pre-upgrade then other processes including a recovery to just before the upgrade"?  Central to my question is the word "EXACTLY" in the note. In other words is oracle implying that the DB wont (or might not) behave the same as in older 11.2.0.2 version or is it simply a warning message that some of the new code that was introduced is still in the downgraded DB but inactivated, therefore a downgraded DB is technically not an image copy of the older DB?
