Setting the environment for applmgr would be to source the main env file:
Once this is set, your env is set for apps or applmgr.
In order to connect as apps schema, you can do the same from db as well.
APPS - database schema/user. applmgr is application/Unix user.
Hope this helps!!!
By this :
"Once this is set, your env is set for apps or applmgr."
Can I conclud that for both apps and applmgr it would be the same env ?
Well, if you clearly understand the role of apps and applmgr in EBS, then Yes.
May you be kind to explain or show a link ?
applmgr is the OS user which owns the Application File System. So you login into putty or any other ssh tool as applmgr user and set the environment.
Once you set the environment, if you want to connect to database, then you need to connect to database using "apps" user. "apps" is a database user.
Even if you want to start/stop services, you need to run command like this:
- cd $ADMIN_SCRIPTS_HOME
- adstrtal.sh apps/apps
To connect to database:
- sqlplus apps/apps
All these operations are done as applmgr user (os user) and only after the environment is set.
