Can someone us the RFQ functionality with Oracle Sourcing module licensed and without Oracle Sourcing module licensed.
Without Oracle Sourcing license you get a very basic RFQ functionality in Oracle Purchasing, which includes only its creation and approval. In this case its very manual on Java based forms and could be useful for companies which doesn't require extensive sourcing functionality. However the approved RFQ can be viewed in 'Autocreate' form to create Purchase Orders.
With Oracle Sourcing one gets lots of features - such as web based forms, and very detailed features for RFI, RFQ and Auctions. All the workflow from creation, attaching Terms & Conditions based on predefined templates, approval, supplier response, negotiation, award analysis based on scenarios, award approval and PO Contract creation can be done online in Oracle Sourcing with seamless integration with iProcurement, Procurement Contracts, Purchasing and iSupplier Portal. Infact one can also create new Suppliers with integration between Oracle Sourcing and Oracle Supplier Lifecycle Management module.
Its hard to explain all the features here but it would be worth going through Oracle Datasheet in Sourcing module. Here is the link - http://www.oracle.com/us/products/applications/047054.pdf
