Remote database access through SQL Developer tool

    Jhil

      Hi all

I have configured  tnsnames.ora file  on windows  to access devdb  database through SQL- Developer

Host   OS  : Windows 7   ( Oracle 10g windows s/w installed and  SQL Developer tool)

Guest  OS :  Redhat linux  ( Oracle S/w 11g installed)

Workstation : Vmware Workstation version 10

10g datavbase  ==>  windb on windows

11g database   ==>  devdb on linux

I have installed 10g s/w on windows machine.

On windows machine ,  $ORACLE_HOME/network/admin/tnsnames,ora , i have added entries for devdb database.

So i can access devdb through SQL-Developer  on windows machine

My confusion is , if i dont install 10g s/w on windows , where do i  configure tnsnames.ora file ?

How can i achieve it ?
