Performance issue while applying a pre-requistie patch (21271187) in oracle r12

    Mussa

The patch got hung in the middle of the patch process.
I have performance issue here.  Applying patch is hung since 6 hours ago  Any idea as to how to approach  fixing this issue?

I used adctrl to quite the adworkers and then killed the processes.

Then I re-ran the adpatch and I got this error in the adpatch log file:

      Telling workers to quit...

24 workers have quit.  Waiting for 40 more.

36 workers have quit.  Waiting for 28 more.

      All workers have quit.

      AutoPatch error:

Error running SQL and EXEC commands in parallel

      Freeing includes hash table

      Freeing fixes hash table

      Freeing basedons hash table

      Freeing entities hash table

      You should check the file

      /db/apps/test3/apps/apps_st/appl/admin/TEST3/log/adpatch.log

      for errors.

How to fix this error?Any metalink docs?

            Hi,

I do not recommend using such high worker count using the current specs.

Restart the patch with 16 workers and see if it works.

What is your application and database versions?

            Regards,

            Bashar

                What is your database version?

What is the patch you are trying to apply? Have you applied all the prerequisites mentioned in the readme?

There are more than 5 patches as  prerequisties to patch 212771187 .  So far , I have applied just 3 patches

and got stuck with that error in the 4th patch.

                    Hello  Bashar!

I have executed the following command and the error was resolved and patch completed successfully:
                    alter system flush shared_pool;

Next, in README.txt , it is written that I should do the following as post patch task:

                    ****************************************************************
                    1. Enable AD Invoker's Right feature [required]

Run adadmin -> Compile/Reload Applications Database Entities menu ->

                        Compile APPS schema.

                    Type "No" when prompted for:

Run Invoker Rights processing in incremental mode [No]

                    ***********************************************

Any idea as to how I should do that?Bashar.

I have run  adadmin  but I have not idea how to do the following as it says in the README.txt, Bashar.

Compile/Reload Applications Database Entities menu ->

                          Compile APPS schema.

                        Bashar.

Is this the first time you use adadmin?!

You just need to enter the number next to each selection and hit Enter.

When prompted to run invoker rights processing in incremental mode, just press enter to accept the default value.

                        Regards,

                        Bashar

Yes, I didn't pay attention to that point.

The patch was applied.  I have checked via application manager.

                          Thank you!
