What procedure did you follow?
This document should be your primary reference:
Application Tier Platform Migration with Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.2 (Doc ID 2048954.1)
If you are cloning to OL7, there are many additional steps/patches you would have to apply:
Please review MOS Notes: Oracle E-Business Suite Installation and Upgrade Notes Release 12 (12.2) for Linux x86-64 (Doc ID 1330701.1)
There are many steps involved for installation or cloning existing EBS 12.2 to OL 7.
For example, customers cloning to OL7 must be on 184.108.40.206 or 220.127.116.11 or higher.
Following must be applied: (If on 12.2.4)
19671435:R12.WIP.C19863797:R12.ENG.D & AD/TXK delta 6 RUP (or higher)
Below are a few prereq.
Would advise you to review all the steps in the Doc ID 1330701.1
Hope this helps!!!
Thanks Bashar, Narsi,
I follow this procedure:
We are already in 18.104.22.168 database, and 19671435:R12.WIP.C19863797:R12.ENG.D & AD/TXK delta 6 RUP
I also installed the pre-reqs RPMs for OL7.
I was able to clone successfully too But the screen modules display not correct.
Is running RDA helpful here?
Is there availalable EBS R12.2.4 VM appliance for OL7? or Rapidwiz installer?
In my previous activities, I was able to clone 12.1.3 from OL5 to OL6 with similar steps of cloning, and minimal change.
I was also able to clone 22.214.171.124 from OL4 to OL5 with minimal change.
The problem is that OL6 and OL7 are very different when it comes to the libraries that need to be compiled in while linking. Changes between previous OL releases weren't as significant and did not tend to break as much.
Thanks Handat and ALL,
Can you test cloning EBS R12.2 from OL6 to OL7 and put ii in your blog?
I am sure many viewers will like it.
The procedures documented in blog posts are easy to understand by most people.
However, they are not updated like the official ones to reflect the ever changing steps and technology updates.
You must first ensure that the target environment has all the prerequisites installed.
Oracle recently released the preinstall RPM for OL7.
Yes, I have just downloaded and installed the Oracle recently released the preinstall RPM for OL7.
So what could have I been missed?
Have you tried regenerating JAR files and forms compilation
Good Idea! I will try that...brb.
Is relinking all executables needed as well?
How about running all modules in adadmin?
Is there a batch program that will do all the run?
Does cloning or running autoconfig or patching do not do this regenerating of JAR files by default?
I run the following:
1. regenerate JAR files
2. compile forms
3. compile invalid db objects
4. relink all executables
but still the issue persist.
I will try compiling JSP if it will help.
Which of the following is the syntax fron 12.2?
perl $FND_TOP/patch/115/bin/ojspCompile.pl --compile -p 6 -log /tmp/ojspCompile.log –flush
perl ojspCompile.pl –compile –flush -p 2
$FND_TOP/patch/115/bin/ojspCompile.pl --compile --flush -p 2
I resolved my issues
I do not know which of the following tasks did resolved it.
I just combined all knowledge and tips I gained here in the forums
I did the following to resolve my issue:
1. as root > # chmod -R 777 /tmp /usr/tmp /var/tmp
2. as applmgr user > $ export CONFIG_JVM_ARGS="-Xms1024m -Xmx2048m"
3. as oracle db user > sqlplus apps/apps
3.1) Take backup of fnd_nodes, adop_valid_nodes, and fnd_oam_context_files.
create table fnd_nodes_bak as select * from fnd_nodes;
create table adop_valid_nodes_bak as select * from adop_valid_nodes;
create table fnd_oam_context_files_bak as select * from fnd_oam_context_files;
3.2) Delete the tables.
3.3) Run AutoConfig on DB tier and then on apps tier (Run & Patch FS).
4. Run adop dummy (2x) to switch to fs1, fs2 and back to fs1
$ adop phase=prepare,finalize,cutover,cleanup
All the above maintenance activities are none destructive and can be done anytime over and over
Can you add more maintenance tasks that I have missed?
Hopes this helps....
