Need you help and suggestion, we have 10 multi node shared APPL_TOP webservices and forms services running along with 2 parallel concurrent manager nodes.
we get Code deployment and migrations with Implementation Steps from Developers, I as an APPS DBA need to execute the same in PROD environment.
The code deployments in certain cases needs Apache and oacore bounce related to self-service pages related to HRMS/Payroll.
We have change management which asks us question on the outage timelines to notify users on the unavailability, once the changes are made which needs bounce of apache and oacore, could we bounce one node at a time and avoid the outage, would the bounced node webservice pick up the latest changes OR all web server nodes related apache and oacore to be stoped completely and then start all services to pick the changes.
Could someone please shed some light on this topic.
Thanks in Advance!
You have a shared appl top. You can do Apache/OACORE bounce one at a time. By default, in r12, forms connect through servlet mode and in that case bouncing apache will disconnect existing forms sessions and also self service users will also be disconnected. In that case, if a connection is tried again, it will redirect it to the available web nodes.
Hope it helps.
