I created and Alert in the Alert Manager in Oracle EBS version 12.1.3. The alert sends an email to a requestor indicating backordered items. The alert works fine as-is however it sends a separate email for each item ordered. Is there a way to consolidate all backordered items and quantities into one email? Under Actions the Action Level is Detail. Do I need to set this property to Summary? What other properties need to be set and do I embed additional commands in the Text field in Action Details – Email?
Yes, given a set of rows returned by your alert SQL, detail submits an alert for each row, summary submits one alert for all the rows. You can set up the message body to show all the lines from the detail though, so something like
