    Hardware requirement for 12.2 upgrade

    953361

      Hello,

We are planning to upgrade our existing environment from 12.1.3 to 12.2.5 with existing shared appl_top (we have implemented shared appl_top in 12.2.3 environment).

Can anyone please let me know based on personal experience on what should be the best configuration for hardware (CPU/RAM/Diskspace) which we should consider for this upgrade for getting optimal performance in upgraded environment. Since this will be the first upgrade we are not sure on hardware requirement for getting optimal performance.

Any help will be much appreciated.

      Thanks in advance.

          Hi,

How many concurrent users do you have?

How many database and application tiers are you running?

Do you have load balancing implemented?

What is the size of the current database?

What is the growth percentage of the database per year?

Any integration points? If yes, how many transactions per day?

Are you using Discoverer or any BI tools?

What kind of storage do you have?

          Regards,

          Bashar
