I am not able to reproduce the problem of loosing highlight after changing sort columns. I used the Sample IG app, Saved Reports page. I added two highlight rules and then changed the sort columns a number of times. I also enabled and disabled other report settings. In all cases the highlights were shown.
If you are still having this problem can you provide steps to reproduce or an example of the problem on apex.oracle.com
A difference with Interactive Report is that the colors are not shown in the report settings area.
Also the problem you describe with scrambled layout after open/close the sidebar was a problem during early adopter but should not be a problem now in the final 5.1 release. I am able to expand/collapse the side bar and the IG adjusts to the size change without problem.

The attached screenshot shows the scrambled layout. It happens by opening/closing the menu along with collapsing expanding the top description region pretty regularly.
Looks like it has to do something with the browsers vertical scrollbar though.
The scrambled layout is pretty bad if you put a right adjusted column into the last position. In the example above salary is the last column which is not seen at all
Highlighting seems to work fine as long as you base your grid on a table.
I have upgrade the theme in my application which seems to have fixed some of the highlithing problems.
I have requested a Workspace at https://apex.oracle.com/ and I was able to break the highlighting on one of the packaged applications... Argh... :-(
The above screenshot is showing the private report but all the highlithings are gone.
To reproduce the glitch try the following:
Make some adjustments including some highliting and possibly with sorting on any column.
save it as a private report
Then choose any other column for sorting. This is breaking the highlighting for me every time.
Anybody else having these problems with interactive grids?
