what is the exact version(including patch level) are you on?
If you use your source as a flat file does your map work every time?
Blank is not for NULLS it is for a blank space - Using Special Characters in the Source Value Expression for Like Mappings
<BLANK> - Processes only rows that contain the blank character (space).
Maybe you should look at mapping scripts - Creating Mapping Scripts
The funny thing is that when I checked the SQL views, it is actually a blank space instead of NULL!
but the "LIKE <BLANK> " mapping did not work anyway.....so that is very strange for me.
So I use a little bit of trick of putting the "LIKE *" instead, and put it in the last row of FDMEE mapping, and for the not blank value at the top of my mapping I use "LIKE ?*"
That works.. although I think it is not so efficient!
Thanks for the follow-up. Hmm, yeah, the SQL view thing weird. Would expect to see NULL. Sure it's the field has a space vs. your SQL pull not showing the word "NULL"?
Regardless, what you put together will work. In terms of efficiency, it's probably fine. One thing to keep in mind: It sounds like you've set up a "catch all" mapping. Now, any incoming source value that doesn't have a proper map will now map to this default member. Not sure if that's what you intended.
