if it is possible form an SQL file containing tables and constraints definitions
Tools > Export Database
Grab your objects
This will generate one or more files of your DDL. Put it in a single file if you want to use it to import to a modeler design later.
Import your DDL files via : File-DDL Modeler-Import-DDL File
That should do the trick. (SQL*Developer 220.127.116.11)
Thanks for the replies.
But I do not understand the answers.
I can get an SQL file with the DDL of tables and constraints from SQL Developer.
I can import the SQL file in the SQL Developer Data Modeller.
But then, how can I see the model? How can I generate a PDF from this model?
Thanks and Regards
Ok so when importing the DDL via file-datamodel-import after selecting and importing the files and selecting a database version you end up in the "view log"screen.
Here you select close which takes you to the "Compare models" screen. In that screen you select the objects you want to include in your model and press "Merge".
The you get the datamodel which you can print to pdf via : File-Datamodeler-Print diagram-To PDF File.
right click in the tree on your relational model, and say 'show'
It is possible by just usng the Oracle Datamodller.
1) Create a connection to a database
2) Then you can exract the data model or specific schema
3) From that model, it is possible to generate a DDL file, an image, or a PDF file
There is this no need to have an initial DDL file to get the data model
