You did not specify what version (including patch level) you are on(e.g 184.108.40.206.210) or whether you are on Cloud.
Also the belief is have you looked through the documentation...

I have reviewed the document but maybe I didn't fully understand. Anyway, my question is regarding the location security. Say if I have 100 locations and 100 groups (with the same role) are created when I click on maintain user security. Now if there is a user who would need access to all the 100 location, do I have to add him to all the 100 groups on the Shared Services? Or is there an easier way to do so?
Yes all the provsioning is done in Shared Services and yes you will have to provision the user in question to all of the 100 groups created based on the role / location combination. This can be done quite easily in Shared Services in the provisioning screen by using filters (if you have made use of the prefix and suffix options intelligently when creating your groups in FDMEE) and a bulk select and assignment in the provisioning screen, so shouldn't be that time consuming after all.

Yes, very easily. In the FDMEE security setup, specify a prefix for the group names, such as FDMEE. Then all you have to do is look up the user in Shared Services > right-click > Properties > Member Of tab > enter FDMEE* in the Groups search > all FDMEE groups are displayed > check the box at the top to select all.
To answer your second question -- assign the user access to run the Dimension Map report from the Location Analysis report group. This allows the user to view mapping but not change it.
OK, I see a way to add the user to all these native groups at once on the shared point now. Thanks for the guidance.
