Why 3 ip's for scan

ImSundar17Mar 8 2017 — edited May 24 2017

Hi All,

Have been trying to understand why we need three IP or three scan listeners for scan.

My understanding, load balancing and fail over can achieved using one IP too. Scan listener failure means how a VIP can fail, if the ETH on which it is running fails then the scan VIP will fail over to the surviving node.

Please help me to understand, the real purpose of more than one IP for scan name..

Regards,

Sundar
