Please download https://community.oracle.com/ jdk-6u37-solaris-sparc.sh and see if that works better. BTW, last time I upgraded JDK 6 on Solaris I ended up downgrading to 1.6.0_30 because higher versions where unstable even on startup/shutdown of the apps.
Thanks for the update Michael.
I had earlier upgraded the java on ebs r12 where I used to download the *.tar file. but, here I am confused a bit with *.sh file, what I have to do after moving the file to server? just run it?
Yes. Just run it and it should expand the files like you are used to seeing. I would run sh jdk-6u37-solaris-sparc.sh then rename jdk-6u37 to jdk.
This is what I have ended up with, any suggestions?
$ sh jdk-6u30-solaris-sparc.sh
